The Commercial Diversity Initiative, or “CDI,” was created by Streetlights specifically for the world of TV commercial production.
We currently collaborate with corporate advertisers Toyota, General Mills, Honda and others, as well as Advertising Agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi/NY, Saatchi & Saatchi/LA and GSD&M. Each Advertiser and Agency recognized that Streetlights had created a successful program that would enable them to fulfill their particular commitment to diversity on their locations and stages in a simple and expeditious way.
With their power to provide innovative job opportunities, financial support, apprenticeships and membership for Union crew positions, these companies allowed our organization to break new ground.
CDI now offers qualified, experienced Streetlights P.A.’s a chance to make that difficult first move up the career ladder. Through this endeavor, experienced graduates work as an apprentice, earn Union eligibility days in their chosen department, and then join their Union local. At the same time, the financial assistance of our partner companies allows us to train more Production Assistants, so they, too, can eventually advance, join Union locals and become part of our minority database.
