‘Insecure’ Director Melina Matsoukas to Adapt Marlon James Novel for Amazon

Melina Matsoukas, who directed hit HBO show “Insecure” and music videos for the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna, ” has recently been appointed to adapt the award-winning novel “A Brief History of Seven Killings” by Marlon James:

“Melina Matsoukas, chief director of the HBO series Insecure, is set to adapt the the award-winning Marlon James novel A Brief History of Seven Killings for Amazon Studios.

Matsoukas is developing the project as a series, will serve as executive producer of the series, and will also direct the episodes.  James will write the script as well as executive produce alongside Matsoukas and Malcolm Spellman (Empire) who will also serve as the showrunner.”
